CIBC Run For The Cure

Enjoy some exercise with friends while raising money for breast cancer research and treatment! This year the Union Club of BC (through the Community Outreach Committee) has a team participating in The CIBC Run For The Cure. This walking and family friendly event is on Sunday, October 1st, 9 am, at UVic. Friends of members are welcome to join the team as well. Cost (including souvenir t-shirt) for adults is $45, or commitment to fundraise $150. If our team has 10 people or more by Sept 14, our team name will be printed on the t-shirts.

New Artist in Residence (Aug & Sept)

Join this months Artist in Residence; Ms. Michelle Miller next Thursday August 24th from 10:00AM – 12:00PM to talk all things art!

Ms. Miller’s work stems from the personal to the conceptual and from the representational to the abstract.
Working mainly in a two dimensional format, she employs oils or acrylics and mixed media to create richly textured paintings.

Club Member Mrs. Eunice Lowe was in Victoria this week to promote a new book of her late husband, Stephen Lowe. You can pick up your own copy in town at Munro’s Books, Russell Books or Bolen Books. Mrs. Lowe has also generously donated a copy to the Club’s Presidential Library for members to view.
