I would like to begin by thanking the members of The Union Club of British Columbia for entrusting me with the honour of being President for the coming year. I would also like to congratulate Grace Van den Brink for being acclaimed to the position of Vice-President and recognize Elizabeth Mears, Rebekah Hutchinson and Paul Barron for their being acclaimed also.

I would like to extend my deepest appreciations to retiring members Christopher Mackie, Steven McDermott & Leda Townshend. Your guidance will be missed. Finally, I would to thank Bernard Beck for his leadership and enthusiasm for the Club during the last two years.

As you are aware we have spent the past 3 years investing in much needed improvements to our building envelope, Begbie roof and Centennial Ballroom. Our priority now is to maintain our investment, plan for debt retirement and to prioritize our 10 year capital plan while ensuring an excellent member experience leading to member retention and overall satisfaction.

Please remember that this is your Club and to get the most from your membership I encourage you to visit often, attend events, refer family and friends to the Inn, sample new menu items, make use of the Fitness Centre and Billiard Room, enjoy the Renaissance Lounge and try out our wonderful beverage selection. It is the usage by our members that will help to ensure we maintain a vibrant Club.
